The Reason We Sing - Mitch McDonald - Room E119 - No Charge

Good hymns are sweet to the ear, but great hymns are sweet to the soul. In this class we will seek to better understand the history and theology behind some of our sacred hymns of the Christian faith. In doing so, we will come to realize that hymns do not only encourage us to worship but also teach us about the Object of our worship, namely the Triune God.

Consider this class to be a book club for a hymnal, where we all bring our thoughtful and joyful commentary on one of the great hymns of the faith. We all have knowledge, stories, and wisdom that are uniquely ours to share, so let’s do that with one another!  

            During each class we will sing and/or listen to a snippet of a hymn. Each week will be a different hymn, so please feel free to invite new folks at any time. 

Sunday morning Bible study for adults at MZBC is all about life transformation! As we study the Bible, our minds are informed through the teaching of God’s Word, our hearts are transformed into the character of God’s ways, and through application our lives are conformed to His image.
