Preschool, Children & Family Ministry

But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be glory both now and forever. Amen." 2 Peter 3:18

Our Mission
We partner with parents in equipping children birth – 6
th grade into a lifelong relationship with Jesus.

Philosophy of Ministry

The ministry calling the Lord has placed on my heart is to shepherd, teach, love, and serve the needs of preschoolers, children, and their families.  My desire is to

(1) see a steadfast and growing relationship between parents and their children,

(2) provide classroom opportunities for parents to learn and grow in relating to the spiritual mental spiritual, mental, and emotional needs of kids at the different learning levels of childhood,

(3) help prepare children to come to know Jesus as Savior,

(4) disciple children in their walk with the Lord, their families, and with significant others in their lives, and finally,

(5) proactively prepare children and parents to make the healthiest possible transition from the childhood years to adolescence.

I believe that when children and family units flourish in this way, then the church family at large will also mirror the blessings found in a home living for Jesus.  A Biblical model is found in the role of a shepherd … building   relationships, meeting needs, and giving away the love of Jesus.

 1 Peter 5:2-4  (Theme Verse)

“Be shepherds of God's flock that is under your care, serving as overseers-not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not greedy for money, but eager to serve; not lording it over those      entrusted to you, but being   examples to the flock. And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that will never fade away.”  (NIV)

Learning at All Ages

Understanding and meeting kids at their particular learning level opens the way for great interaction with the youngest baby through the child who has reached 6th grade and on.  Teaching and equipping parents / teachers  to enter a child’s world, meet them at their level and interact accordingly unlocks the way to building tremendous relationships.

The Greatest Joy With Children

The greatest joy in working with children is the dynamic of

  • building caring relationships,

  • loving them all the same,

  • getting to truly know them so that I can ‘hit the target’ of their needs,

  • teaching and modeling trust and vulnerability to help them grow personally,

  • Introducing Jesus and his life-changing relationship.
